Homemade Hydrating Drinks: Must-Have Tools and Ingredients

Before we start mixin’ up some tasty, ice-cold drinks, let’s go over some tools and ingredients you’ll need, including a tumbler, some fruit, and water mix-ins.

An Insulated Tumbler

Let’s face it: water and other drinks taste better when they’re ice cold. An insulated tumbler can keep your drinks cold for hours and is a long-lasting, sustainable option. For example, our Toddy XL holds 32 ounces of your favorite beverage and keeps it cool for 24+ hours (plus, it’s completely leakproof!).

Looking for a tumbler with a water bottle-esque style? The Rotera series might be best for you! This series is 100% leakproof for cold beverages and features a double sleeve to prevent dings when you’re on the move.

Plus, the Rotera has a touch-free stainless straw system for easy and sanitary sipping and is available in four different sizes (even 65oz!).

If infused water is more your jam, the MultiShaker is the perfect fit. It’s a tumbler with a built-in agitator that doubles as an infuser. Simply add your favorite fruit, shake, and sip!

The agitator seamlessly infuses your beverage while preventing any fruit, herbs, or other additives from slipping into your sips. The MultiShaker is one of our bestselling products, with one being sold every three minutes!

Yummy Fruit

While we include some specific recipes below, any fruit will do when it comes to creating simple infused drinks. Choose from fresh strawberries, blueberries, lemons, oranges, you name it! Add your fruit to water, sparkling water, or even coconut water for a refreshing twist.

Water Enhancers and Syrups

To make our favorite #WaterTok recipes below, you’ll need some water enhancers (or powdered flavor packets) and some flavored syrups (not for pancakes—think raspberry, lime, caramel, vanilla, etc.).

There’s a variety of options available, from orange flavor packets to flavor packets that taste like your favorite candy. Pick up a few flavors and some syrup on your next grocery trip and see what you can create!

Some Other Nice-to-Haves

Along with the above, there are some other nice-to-have tools you might enjoy when whipping up some of these drink recipes.

For example, you may like some stainless steel reusable straws to improve the sipping experience. And if you choose to add syrups to your drinks, some syrup pumps might be useful too. These pumps go on top of your syrup bottles and make creating drinks even easier.

Get Creative: #WaterTok Water Recipes

Ready to get started? Let’s dive right into some of our favorite #WaterTok recipes we’ve been sipping on.

First, it’s important to note that all of these recipes can be adapted to fit your unique tastes. Want a drink that’s less sweet? Reduce the amount of syrup. Want more flavor? Add another flavor packet.

1. Caramel Apple

  • One green apple flavor packet

  • 1-2 pumps of caramel syrup

This drool-worthy recipe reminds us of crisp fall bonfires and flannel. Simply fill your tumbler with ice and water, add the above ingredients, and stir.

2. The “Pink Drink”

  • One lemonade flavor packet

  • 1-2 pumps of raspberry syrup

This #WaterTok recipe might just remind you of that one pinkish drink from your favorite coffee shop (wink, wink). The raspberry syrup tastes sweet and delicious alongside the tart lemonade. Want to get fancy? Add a lemon slice!

3. Orange Creamsicle

  • One orange flavor packet

  • 1-2 pumps of vanilla syrup

What’s better than an orange creamsicle on a hot day? Not much. And this water is perfectly reminiscent of that sweet treat. Not a fan of orange? Try a grape packet instead for a delicious “Purple Cow.”

4. Cherry Limeade

  • One cherry flavor packet

  • 1-2 pumps of lime syrup

Cherry limeade is tart, sweet, delicious, and refreshing. To be a bit “extra,” add in a slice of lime or some fresh cherries (or both).

5. Pina Colada

  • One pineapple flavor packet

  • 1-2 pumps of coconut syrup

Any time is beach time with this recipe! The combined flavors of pineapple and coconut make it seem like you’re on your own private island, even when you’re at the gym or your desk.

Get Fruity: Fruit-Infused Water Recipes

Looking for something a bit lighter than the above #WaterTok recipes? These fruit-infused water recipes allow the natural flavors of the fruit to shine.

1. Cucumber Water

  • Cucumber slices

Cucumber water is a classic. Simply slice up some cucumber and add it to your water. Let the flavors infuse for a few minutes and then sip away. It’s a spa day in a tumbler.

2. Lemon, Raspberry, and Rosemary Water

  • Lemon slices

  • Raspberries

  • 1-2 sprigs of rosemary

Lemon is tart while raspberries are deliciously sweet. And the rosemary surprises you by enhancing the flavors of both. Plus, this drink just looks beautiful when added to a glass (perfect for impressing your buds).

3. Strawberry Watermelon Water

  • Fresh cut strawberries

  • Watermelon slices

This drink screams summertime. Simply combine strawberries and sliced watermelon in your tumbler and lightly shake to infuse. If you want to take this to the next level, add a bit of mint.

4. Cucumber, Lemon, and Mint Water

  • Cucumber slices

  • Lemon slices

  • Fresh mint leaves

Mint is cool and refreshing, especially during those hot summer months. Lemon adds a splash of tartness that reminds you of fresh lemonade. When combined, it creates yummy water that’s sure to cool you off.

5. Lemon, Lime, and Orange Water

  • 1-2 lemon slices

  • 1-2 lime slices

  • 1-2 orange slices

If you love citrus, this one’s for you. If you want to cut down on the tart flavor of the citrus, feel free to add in some sweeter fruit such as mango. Want more infusion inspiration? Check out our Insta!
