Homemade Frappuccinos

Looking for something as sweet as summer but cold enough to cool you down? Frappuccinos may not be something you’ve ever thought to make at home, and while they aren’t as simple as instant coffee, you can easily make them yourself.

Cold Brew at Home

Cold brew is like a cool shot of adrenaline that you can sip on. What’s not to love! While you may be more familiar seeing cold brew served on tap in a coffee shop, you can enjoy this summer favorite in the comfort of your own home.

Cold brew coffee is known for its high strength and bitterness. It requires some time and patience, as it will need to sit overnight, but the preparation is simple. Spruce Eats offers great instructions on how to make cold brew yourself!

But whether you're getting your cold brew from a cafe or making it at home, be sure to keep it cool with BrüMate!

French Press Coffee

The French press is one of the great ol’ reliables of the coffee world. It is one of the simplest and most essential methods of brewing coffee and your kitchen isn’t complete without one. Signified by its coarse grind, French press coffee is strong and earthy, perfect to wake you up in the morning.

While French press coffee may be easy to make, there is a right and wrong way to do it. Check out Gimme Some Oven’s tutorial on the best way to use your French press!

Cafe Au Lait

The Cafe au lait, or coffee with milk, is a must have in the tool belt of any coffee lover. Not to be confused with a latte, the cafe au lait is made with strong coffee instead of espresso and has a different ratio of coffee to milk.

A latte is made with three parts steamed milk to one part espresso while the cafe au lait is made with equal parts strong coffee and steamed milk. This makes the cafe au lait less rich.

Mocha

Few things pair as well as coffee and chocolate. The mocha brings the two together in a delicious drink that can be enjoyed hot or iced.

But as much as we love the standard mocha, our favorite recipe takes things a step further. This recipe from Sugar and Charm adds white chocolate and peppermint to an old classic.

Iced Coffee

Iced coffee is incredibly versatile and BRIT+CO offer a great new take on the iced latte that has added body and flavor. This recipe is an iced version of Bulletproof coffee, or coffee with butter and MCT oil.

You may raise an eyebrow at the thought of butter in coffee, but don’t knock it until you try it! The melted butter creates a creamy foam and rich flavor, boosted by a couple teaspoons of MCT oil, a concentrated oil from coconuts. Add a little vanilla and you’ve got a refreshing drink for the summertime!
